For those of you who are interested in Dave's background.. read on...

Dave has been involved in music since he was 7 years old when he received his first acoustic guitar and proceeded to teach himself to play because his family was too poor to afford music lessons.

At the early age of 9 he formed his first band, "The Ants Band" which consisted of Dave on Guitar and lead vocals and Tony Cipolla on drums, (not REALLY drums - they were cardboard boxes and a glass milk jug). They played mostly Beatles covers, (this was heavy stuff back then).

Growing up, Dave was a regular at all of the elementary, junior high, high school musical functions, dances, shows, parties, and talent shows in and around Long Beach CA. Dave literally carried his guitar EVERYWHERE he went. (no case, no strap, and metal washers for guitar picks!)

In 3rd grade he began playing the violin with the orchestra as well as singing in the school glee club.

In 7th grade he continued singing in the school choir and vocal ensemble. He started playing upright bass because he was promised by his music teacher, Mr. Pitts, that if he played the upright bass in the orchestra that he would then be allowed to play the electric bass in the jazz band. (He really wanted to play the guitar).

At the age of 14 Dave was accepted into the Los Angeles All District Symphony Orchestra playing the upright bass and performing at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach and other large venues in and around Los Angeles.

Outside of school Dave was very busy playing guitar, bass, and singing rock & roll with different bands throughout the years. Some of the bands were Bad Ash, Axxes, Rock Candy, Premonition, and, Thriller.

In 1976, during the summer between 7th & 8th grade, Dave (bass), began playing with, (his best pal to this day), Joe Sorbo (drums), and Rick Romano (Guitar). The 3 piece band was called Premonition. www.premonition.telmove.com  in 1977 John Graham, (Johnny "G"), (lead/shred guitar) joined the band.

Premonition played at Dave's 9th grade prom in 1978 at Stanford Jr. High as well as at Millikan, Wilson, & Lakewood High school and many other school's proms, dances, parties, concerts, and homecoming celebrations throughout the following years.

The "Prem" had a huge loyal following and played almost every weekend at local concerts, clubs, events, halls, and house parties.  Premonition still to this day holds the record at the Long Beach Police Department for the most helicopters, (and keggers), at a single family residence in Long Beach.    WHAT - A - BLAST!!!

In 1979 Premonition went into Pakaderm Studios, (owned by John & Dino Elefante - Kansas), to record the first album. A 45" vinyl record single was released on the Premonition Productions label, with "Pyramid Premonition" and "Wind Of Miracles",  written and produced by Dave Cook and Rick Romano.

in 1983 Premonition disbanded. Over the course of the next 10 years Dave continued to play and perform with various groups mostly singing lead vocals. In 1982 Dave went to work for AT&T as a Systems Technician installing commercial business Phone and PBX systems in the south bay area. In 1985 Dave founded TELMOVE www.telmove.com installing business phone and computer network systems for business and commercial installations nation wide which he continues to run today.

In 1986 Dave married his sweetheart Heather (Bunker) www.heather.telmove.com who he met in high school. They went on to have 5 lovely, (well kind of), children, Summer, Faith, Hanna, Ian, and Shane. They moved to the hills of Yorba Linda Ca. in 1989 where they continue to live.

in 1999 Dave decided to get back into the music scene and started playing again with various groups in Orange county. In 2003 Dave was a charter member of the Yorba Linda Symphony Orchestra/Southern California Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra www.yorbalindaorchestra.com or www.socalphil.com as the principal bass player playing upright double bass.

In 2005 Dave joined a group in Anaheim called, "The Others" singing lead vocals and playing 80's, 90's, and 00's, cover tunes. Dave left The Others in late 2006.

In early 2007 Dave joined a group in Tustin called, "Crack The Seal" singing lead vocals playing 80's, 90's, and 00's, cover tunes and some original tunes. Crack The Seal played at local bars, clubs, corporate events, and parties around Orange County. Crack The Seal disbanded after Dave left the group in mid 2007.

In mid 2007 Dave formed a group in Orange County called, "The PhillyDogs Band!" www.PhillyDogsBand.com singing lead vocals playing 80's, 90's, and 00's, ROCK cover tunes. The PhillyDogs Band! play all over Southern California at local concerts, clubs, weddings, corporate events, festivals, and parties.

Dave continues to sing, play guitar and bass, as well as write and produce music in his home recording studio, "Unnecessary Noise Studios". Dave's oldest daughter, Summer (23), is also a lead singer in a local band in Orange county www.summercook.com www.KruidFamily.com as well as his son, Ian (10), who plays the drums in a couple of local bands www.ian.telmove.com and The Paralyzers! www.paralyzers.com Now Dave & Heather's youngest, Shane (1), will not put down the drum sticks. We may have yet another drummer in the Cook household!

Enjoy life as it unfolds before you!
